Subject: AC, Joe, and Manny: Thanks RE: Rendering
Sender: owner-lightwave@mail.webcom.com

Guys, thanks for the input on rendering speeds.
I'd already set the light as a spot, but the question lets me know that's a
variable as well.
I think field rendering is what I should do without, though the motion is
primarily horizontally across the screen, and large, and close the camera.
BUT, what I think I'll do is, render 'till the logo stops, then reset to
render the rest without field rendering. My rational is that if there's no
motion, there's no need for field rendering, right?
And I think probably with the Flyer, it is better to render over with the
Framestore: I'd hate to give the Flyer ANOTHER excuse to choke...
And yes, we've passed on the 4.07 upgrade (even though we'd really like the
Flyer fixes) because I understand rendering is severly slowed, as well as
other lightwave problems. And upgrading in general makes me nervous with
client projects sitting on the drives waiting to be completed. Maybe when
we're "between projects"... Yeah, right!
Again, thanks for the prompt and sincere help. I'm Genuflecting to the
computer (had to look up the spelling on that one ;-)
-Mike
